Australia's Top Android Virtual Fitness Apps in Q1 2021: Performance Insights

Australia's fitness enthusiasts have been actively engaging with virtual fitness programs on Android devices in the first quarter of 2021. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a glimpse into the performance of the top five applications in this category.

Fitness, a leading app by Fitbit LLC, saw a decrease in weekly revenue from $26K to $14K, although downloads fluctuated, ending the quarter slightly down from the start. Weekly active users peaked at 165K in mid-January, with a slight decline to 151K by the end of March.

Strava: Run, Bike, Hike, from Strava Inc., showed a similar trend in revenue, starting the quarter at $16K and peaking at $23K in early March before settling at around $15K. Downloads saw a high of 5K in early January, dipping to 2.3K by the end of March. Active users grew from 99K to 109K, indicating a strong user base.

Garmin Connect™ by Garmin maintained a consistent number of weekly active users, starting at 298K and growing to 305K. Downloads saw a decrease from 7.5K to 2.3K.

WELLTECH APPS LIMITED's Weight Loss Walking: WalkFit experienced a fluctuating revenue pattern, with a notable peak at $5K in early March, and downloads decreasing from 5.7K to 1.3K. The active user count saw an initial decrease but recovered to 10K by the quarter's end.

Lastly, FitOn Workouts & Fitness Plans by FitOn showed a decline in revenue from $1.1K to $737, with downloads peaking at 4.2K in early February before dropping to 2.2K. Active users showed resilience, increasing from 17K to 18K.
